The composer of many acclaimed movies, including Roman Polanski's Oscar-winning The Pianist and Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula, died today. He was 81. The composer died in his hometown of Katowice, southern Poland, following a long illness, according to Jerzy Kornowicz, head of the Association of Polish Composers.

The first Christmas with a staff! Big things are happening for us here at Persey. Stay tuned. This next year will be GIGANTIC...

As you may have realized, Thief is delayed and will now ship on January 14, 2014. For those of you, who were lucky to get an autographed copy, please be advised that your copy will ship even later, as we will still have to mail the covers to Johnannes Schmoelling in Germany, and then to Chris Franke and Craig Safan here in L.A. I do apologize about that.

Brian's wonderful homage to the Golden Era of film scoring for the play and film-within-the play "Private Dancer" is out today, in time for opening night in New York off-Broadway.

We have a lot of releases coming that we need to clear our warehouse for, plus it's Black Friday, so mosey on over to our online store to check out the incredible deals you can get thru Saturday. CDs as low as $1.19; double albums as low as $8.99! And still, only $6 to ship for as many CDs as you can buy for the US and Canada.

Perseverance Records is proud to announce the addition of Peter Hackman to our growing company. We have given him the title of producer and he will help out in the area of project coordination on releases already in the pipeline. Peter has long been a friend to our label and friends of film music worldwide. His Fans of Film Music event, now in its fourth year, has garnered respect from composers and fans alike. His enthusiasm and knowledge will be an asset to our company and its long term growth prospects.

It has been a great year at Perseverance. Thanks to the help of our new distribution partner, MVD, we are growing at a rapid pace. In 2014, we expect to release at least 24 CDs and possibly a couple of audiophile titles. Some standard reissues, some expanded editions and maybe even a holy grail or two. Peter and I share the belief and passion that our label has to be a friend to the artist and listen to their needs. Without the great composers and artists who make the music we all enjoy, there would be no Perseverance. Having said that, 2014 is going to be a big year for this once little, but growing, label.

Welcome aboard, Peter!
